helmet #2

A normal head’s width should be 75-80% of the same head’s length. Before surgery, Caiden was at 63%. With the help of the helmets, he is now at 72.5%. He’s come a long way! So much so, that it’s time for his second helmet. Look at how he’s grown!

The doctors are aiming for 80% ratio, since as he ages it will slightly come down. One benefit to the helmet? Caiden doesn’t mind wearing hats. Maybe we can outfit him with a bunch of them after he is done with the helmet. A hat party for his first birthday!

Caiden is big enough that he can hang with Cam in the tub. They even interact and enjoy one another.

I love the look on Cam’s face. “I can get away with this?” Too much fun.

christmas recital

Cam’s class sang songs at my company’s holiday party. We practiced all of his songs for weeks ahead of time in preparation. All of them were common children’s melodies with new lyrics. (Think Father Christmas instead of Frère Jacques.)

His class is full of cuties. They all did so well, and it is so much fun watching them perform.

 He was a proud boy that day!

my boys are growing

Things change fast when you’re a little boy. One day you’re skating with the walker, and the next you’re passing a puck around on the ice.



One day you’re laying on your back playing with toys, and the next day you’re sitting up sorting mail with Momma.



Slow down, time. I want to hold onto these moments.

indoor fun

You have to make your own fun when you’re trapped inside during the winter. There is only so much outside play you can take!

Caid loves his new telephone toy, which I think is funny because he’ll never use one like it when he grows up.

 I have a lot of respect for child photographers. Toddlers do not sit still!

 Cam did settle down to sit by his brother for a couple of shots. He loves his little brother, and is so good with him. Such cute faces!

 I am one lucky momma to have these boys a part of my life.

the magic of snow

Snow is a random event in St. Louis, and you have to enjoy it when it comes. I say that knowing I don’t really enjoy it (I often call Chris exclaiming that white sh!t is falling from the sky), but it changes when you can enjoy it through your child’s eyes.

 We built our first snowman in Washington, IN while visiting my grandparents. Quite the accomplishment, since he did this amidst a massive snowball fight. Soon afterwards, St. Louis got their own snowfall and it was time for snowman #2.

 This required a lot of snow, and Cam was happy to shovel some in Chris’s direction. I wonder how long shoveling will remain fun?

 Snowman #2 was pretty cute, as were the boys who constructed him.

 I guess snow can be magical. Anything is that makes little boys so proud and happy.
