I’ve never been a fan of commuting. I only managed our short stay in St. Charles because Chris and I both worked at the same place and he would do the driving. Moving to the city allows us to live six miles from work – about how much I can tolerate. But there are days where the boys make it a joy and I don’t want the car ride to end.
Sometimes it’s a great time to talk to Cam, since it isn’t often he sits still long enough for a conversation. Today he asked Chris about who was left in the playoffs. After hearing the Bruins and Penguins would face each other in the next round, he shouted, “Oh no! Who
are we going to root for?!” He decided on the Bruins,
and then proceeded to give Chris a play-by-play of the first game. The Bruins came back to win it 2-1 in overtime after the Penguins got a
penalty for a big scrum. Chris doesn’t know what was better – him
talking about the goalie saves or the big “He shoots, he scores!!!” in
the overtime.
We both treasure those moments.
