vacay!

Yes, it has been over a month.

Yes, I am very delayed.

But…better late than never?

We spent time on Hilton Head Island with a large family group in June, and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. Everything from sand castles, crafts, loving on a newborn, puzzles, games, cousin love, and lots and LOTS of beach. The boys both loved the ocean, and I was able to completely unwind – a feeling I welcomed!

a little taste of the year to come

Cam had his last session of learn-to-play today and instead of running drills they had a mini “game.” I use that term loosely since the coaches threw two pucks into the ring and let them go after it. Which looks a lot like what we will see next year when he plays games – minus one puck.

Look for a player in red with green laces – who takes a shot from the other end and scores!

We are very proud of this boy and all he’s learned this year. Here comes Kindergarten!

My oldest had his first gradation, which is very bewildering. 

 All the kids had to dress up in clothing representing their future occupation. Cam, of course, picked “hockey player–goalie” for his. Too cute.

 The kids also voted to give everyone an award. Cam was awarded the best athlete. I guess they know him pretty well.

 We are very proud of our graduate and what he accomplished this year. At this point, he is reading at a second grade level and he impresses us with his math skills.

Of course, we could not have gotten there without the help and love from Mrs. Saracino and Miss Meehan. He flourished under their care.

raising our sons in the wrong sports town

Cardinal home opener is a big deal in St. Louis. So my boys always wear a shirt for their (Chris’s) favorite baseball team.

But the boys cannot hide from the Cardinal’s by wearing their Cubbie shirts. Cameron was given a Cardinal logo to color in at school. Well, he decided that wasn’t something he wanted to do so he crossed it out and flipped the paper over to make his own drawing.

Chris and I cannot deny this kid and his stubborn, team-loyal personality.
