week 38

So close. We’re as ready as we can be at this point.

Murphy’s Law says Firecracker will either arrive as scheduled on the fifth, or this weekend. Only because my parents are going out of town starting today. If you receive a phone call from me between now and Monday then I might be looking for some serious help.

water fun

Summer has returned to St. Louis, and we have tried spending as much time in water as possible. That can mean pool time, fountain time or backyard water table. And of course friends.

Tower Grove Fountain is also a fav, and our friend Mila joined us for fun.

Then we had some backyard play. We got out every water apparatus we had and took turns in each of them.

This is what you do after watching your pregnant mommy do it for awhile – soak your ankles.

Then our friends Ben and Chase came to play!

And with this weather sticking around, we’ll spend many more hours soaking in water to survive the heat.

daddy’s day

Cam’s school celebrated Father’s Day with an afternoon picnic. When Chris got there he was given a cute card.

They played outside, and Cam impressed other fathers with his golf swing. It’s something you pick up on when playing hockey.

Cam also answered questions about his dad. I was there when they were taking down his answers and stayed silent through all of them, except for one. And all I said was “Come on, Cam! I KNOW you know this one!” He got it right.

Maybe I’ve been shrinking Chris’s clothing but that shirt is looking a bit small.
Thanks to all the teachers for putting on another fun event!

week 37

Nope, I don’t look tired at all.

And yes, I am bigger than last time. Didn’t need a photo to tell me that, but here you go anyway.

Still breech. Three weeks to go (scheduled for July 5) unless Firecracker decides to make an earlier entrance. We shall see!

bowling party for a 3-year-old!

We decided to have Cam’s birthday party a little early this year so a Firecracker wouldn’t prevent me from coming. When Chris and I were debating what to do, there really was only one option – BOWLING!

We were lucky enough to share the day with lots of friends, and every time a new friend showed up Cam would jump up and down yelling, “We get to go bowling!” It was fun to see him so excited.

Final scores of the day? Honestly, most of them did as well as I normally do. But Noah got the high score.

Mimi, Eva and Wyatt

Cam, Jackson & Noah

Chase, Mila & Abby

After bowling, it was time to chow down on hot dogs and cake!

Chris and I are no cake decorating pros, but we thought our bowling pins and ball cake turned out nicely.

Cam was a bit overwhelmed at this point and wasn’t into blowing out his candles. Good thing Daddy was there for the rescue.

His mood quickly turned when we started opening gifts.

We are so lucky to have so many generous friends and family who were able to share the day with us. We hope everyone had as much fun as this little man!

weeks 35 & 36

Another two-fer.

Overall, doing pretty well. Firecracker is still breech and has been in the same position for over a month and a half, so I think he/she is quite comfortable. Funny enough, Firecracker is in the same spot Cam was in, with the head pushing up on my right rib. It’s how I make ‘em.

All that’s left is putting the bassinet and crib together, pack my bags and we’re ready to go! As ready as we’ll ever be.
