backyard pool fun

We have been having a ridiculous summer in St. Louis this year. Days in July that only reach the mid-70s is unheard of, but we have had a few. That means a lot more outdoor play, but not as much water play. I had to snap a few photos while the opportunity was there.
These boys love their water!

myseum field trip

Cam is back at Purina’s childcare center for the summer, and little brother Caiden is SO EXCITED! They interact with one another on the playground and do activities with each other. Cam gets to show Caid what big boys are allowed to do, including field trips! Both boys got to ride the bus to the Myseum!
There was a large interactive wall where your shadow affected what happened.
We spent a long time there.
Dinosaurs often get hungry for rubber chickens.
It’s fun for me to see the boys interact so well away from home. And my little-big boy really enjoyed his first field trip experience.

Grants Farm

After our first overnight party featuring Wyatt and Eva, we decided we had enough energy to visit some animals at Grants Farm. Another day to make memories!
After several visits to Grants Farm, we decided to never enter the goat pen for feedings. ALWAYS feed from the outside of the fence. Otherwise you will have a traumatized child and might be missing an appetizing (for a goat) personal item.
There’s always room for a snow cone. And for mandatory Joker snow cone faces.
We are all thankful for misters installed at any outside attraction. Especially Caiden.
Saint Louis is celebrating its 250th birthday this year, and to celebrate they have placed cakes all around town. It’s fun to see how many you can locate and see their uniqueness.
We survived the heat and enjoyed out company. The Brocks are our best family friends, and both boys ask how Wyatt and Eva are doing in Florida. We miss them dearly but are very excited for their new adventure. Now we have an awesome place to visit! Love you guys!

fireworks with the Brocks

We got to watch fireworks with our good friends the Brocks (or most of them, sorry Chris) this year. They have since moved to Florida (boo), so before they left we planned a lot of together time to create memories. Before heading to the park, we shot off our own rockets.
We got to the park early for a good viewing spot and the kids occupied themselves before the show by running, rolling, eating and swinging glow sticks around.
No pictures of the show, since I chose to sit back and enjoy. You’ll have to enjoy these photos of cute kids instead.

birthday boys

The end of June is a crazed, fun-filled time in our house. As much as I tried/wanted to separate birthdays, Caiden thought it would be fun to share Cameron’s birthday. I was stubborn enough to make him wait until the following day.

This year the boys turned five and two! And we had many celebrations. The first, Cameron’s birthday at home. He was recovering from a fever, so it was low key. But I think he still had a good night.
As you can see, we have entered the era of Legos.

Next up, birthday celebration at school. We celebrated with Caiden’s classmates first, with Cam joining in the fun. Then big boy Caid went to Cam’s class for more cookie cake. He thought he was the coolest kid at the table, cracking jokes and laughing at them. Too cute.
That night, MORE dessert to celebrate Caid’s birthday!
All that celebration in two days, and we weren’t done yet. Cam’s friend birthday party was Saturday, and then we had a family gathering on Sunday. Where Caiden’s favorite gift was his Scooby Doo musical card.
I decided to pull out all the desserts we had stockpiled in our house instead of making something new. The boys didn’t seem to mind, and we enjoyed celebrating with family.

Now to recover to do it all over again next June!
